To all my froyo-friends out there: Isn’t froyo the best thing ever?!
It tastes fresh and smooth, you can put toppings on it and it is a healthy alternative to ice cream. I am not even going to try stating that this recipe is perfect for summer as it is for every season. But what if I tell you this: you don’t need to leave the house to eat your daily dose of froyo (don’t worry, you still can instagram it). This recipe is super easy, quick and it takes the freshness and the taste of your past frozen yogurt experiences to a new level.
So, to get started you simply need four ingredients. The greek yogurt not only contains a high protein level, but makes the froyo extra especially creamy and smooth. It also contributes that characteristic tartness, which I personally love and which makes frozen yogurt so refreshing.
It will take you 10 minutes of preparation maximum and the pleasure will be endless (nice slogan, huh?).
500gr. greek yogurt
2 egg whites
75gr. of sugar
100ml. cream or milk
1-Beat the egg whites until they are stiff and store them aside
2-Put the yogurt in a bowl large enough to add the other ingredients
3-Mix the sugar and the cream, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved
4-Add the cream to the greek yogurt and stir until you get a smooth texture
5-Now carefully mix the egg whites from the first step into the yogurt and cream. And voilà, there you go, all ready!
6-Store the mixture in the freezer for two hours minimum, regularly stirring it in an at least half an hour-interval until it becomes the most fantastic and smooth froyo you ever had 😉
After preparation, the really fun part begins. The toppings. Fresh fruits, melted dark chocolate, almond slices, honey, chocolate chips, cocoa nibs, cookies, you name it. Top your froyo with whatever floats your boat and enjoy!
